EASI again had the pleasure of addressing the the Appraisal Institute at the annual meeting of the Northern California chapter in San Francisco.
Two major themes were presented — that ecological assets have redefined rural land value, and that as a result rural lands (farms, ranches and industrial properties) are probably worth more than you think!
The presentation encouraged the Appraisal Institute to begin thinking about standard methods to incorporate ecological asset values into land appraisals. Landowners deserve to know about the potential value of these assets just as if minerals, water or oil and gas were present.
A copy of the presentation is available here: Appraisal Institute 2019.
